USACE Opens Access to Water Resource Data - Corps Water Management System (CWMS) Database for Public Access Oct. 23

Published Oct. 14, 2015

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) today announced it will open the Access to Water Resource Data - CWMS Data Dissemination (CWMS) website for public access beginning 23 October at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

The CWMS Data Dissemination website is a public accessible map-based repository of water resources data that includes elevation, precipitation, storage, and flow status of USACE reservoir and lock & dam projects.

This website is designed as part of the implementation of USACE strategic goals by providing access to water resources data to the public and all stakeholders.  The design of this website is for ease of use with simplified charts and graphs displayed to the public. The public obtains project status near their current geographic location, their street address, a map, or through a simple text search. They also can obtain more detailed information via links from this national website to local project websites, where available.

Currently the public CWMS website focuses on more than 425 USACE-projects with 1,700 time series of live elevation, storage, flow, and stage data available.  The USACE looks forward to feedback from users to ensure that we meet public and stakeholder requirements.

The website will be available at http://water.usace.army.mil. Technical or data questions may be directed to water@usace.army.mil.
