Colonel John Lloyd
Colonel John Lloyd assumed duties as the Chief of Staff, Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 20 July 2020. Lloyd previously served as Command Engineer, U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) and United Nations Command. As the Command Engineer, he oversaw the multi-billion-dollar Host Nation Construction program and the Lead Environmental Component (LEC), where he provided oversight of the entire environmental program for the USFK commander. He also coordinated and synchronized mine clearing operations within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Lloyd served as the Commander, Pittsburgh District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, from July 2016-July 2018. His mission covered 26,000 square miles including portions of western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, eastern Ohio, western Maryland and southwestern New York. He commanded various Civil Works missions in the areas of navigation, flood damage reduction, recreation, environmental restoration, hydropower, storm damage reduction, regulatory, water supply and emergency response.
