MH-1A, STURGIS Nuclear Barge. The MH-1A (Mobile, High Power, Field Implementation) nuclear reactor was incorporated into a new center section for a former WWII Liberty Ship. The MH-1A was the highest power reactor built in the Army Nuclear Power Program. After testing at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia the MH-1A provided power for the Panama Canal Zone while moored in Gatun Lake, Panama from 1968 to 1976.
