Local fourth graders participate in Every Kid at a Park initiative at Tioga-Hammond & Cowanesque Lakes
Fourth grade students from Blossburg Elementary School make pine cone bird feeders at Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes, May 24, 2016. The Corps project was one of 186 federal sites selected to receive a 2015 field trip grant from the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official charity of America’s national parks. The grant, part of NPF’s Open OutDoors for Kids Program, supports the White House’s Every Kid in a Park youth initiative, which provides fourth-grade children and their families a pass granting free access to national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges.
