Suisan survey boat The "USS Suisun", flagship of Historic Maritime Preservationists, Inc. was built as a "survey and inspection" vessel for the Office of the Chief of U.S. Engineers.  But with a Honduras mahogany paneled saloon, electric lights, and hot and cold running water, it offered a degree of opulence well beyond what that term suggests.
Suisan survey boat refurbished After two sinkings, a spell at the bottom of the Sacramento Delta, and 25,000 man-hours of restoration, the 86-foot gasoline/distillate engine-propelled "USS Suisun" has been returned to its former splendor. As flagship of Historic Maritime Preservationists, Inc., this classic maritime treasure embodies its commitment to curatorial work and maritime excellence.
